The hoses may be pretty universal, hopefully.

I have a floor pump with a bad pin, and one can overcome the valves with a significant amount of pressure, but it has to have a secondary valve in the pump, and I don't think I'd want to do that with a frame pump.

@fietsbob is probably correct, no valve in the pump. It sounds like a poor design. You might want to "burp" the tire before trying to inflate like one does with presta valves.
I bought it used, found it in a charity shop. But it doesn't seem like a pin was part of its construction. It doesn't look broken at all, there's nothing rattling inside.

It's ok, I can still use the pump with another hose but I was curious. I thought there might be another valve type I haven't heard of yet.

Anyway, I'll try it again by applying more pressure, maybe that's just how it is.

Btw, before anyone suggests it, I do have other pumps, I'm not in dire straits, I'm just curious about it.
