But now you've read it, and I find it to be irrefutable. And you're acting as if he's insulted you? Come on. If you're not going to take his advice, at least thank him for it and consider using it later. As I said, I believe he is right in all of his points, and you're going off in wild directions without evidence of knowing any industry best practices. You don't have to act embarrassed, but I think you should start following industry practices as soon as you can rather than dismissing them as exotic or whatever.
