10 by 1 mm solid steel axle fixed in frame with hex head nuts , can replace the hollow QR axle..
Shimano uses 10x1 threaded cones..
then you must bring , or borrow a 15mm wrench to fix a flat tire..

NB not what is now selling as through axle .. 'TA'

but why not just get a hub for single speed.. say building a wheel around a freewheel hub..
symmetrically spoke angled, centered under the rim ;; with a screw on freewheel ..

There are wider hubs that can build a stronger wheel ..
specifically for single speed MTB.
without the dish compromises to make room for that stack of gear cogs
(cassette or freewheel)
