You were at the very end of a two day, 150+ mile ride. Depending on the year, you were soaked with rain, or soaked with sweat from the heat, or had battled gale force headwinds all day. You were bound to be just a bit disoriented coming in to the finish.....
It's a good thing I never tried to ride over to Hole in the Wall for a Reality after the finish. I would have ended up in the river.
