Thanks, yeah, the Tortec Velocity is more of a commuting rack, although some of the sellers say it is ok for 'light touring'. I only use one pannier for commuting. I first saw one on a road bike about 10 years ago at Columbus Circle in NYC and started looking for them. I think they look nice on road bikes. Tough to find, I have used them on three bikes now, and had to order all of them from the UK - the shipping was pricey. I recently found one seller who sells them directly in the US, jejamescycles.com, but even so, it is a UK outfit. Not sure why Tortec doesn't distribute the Velocity in the US, other Tortec racks seem to be available.
