I understand the problem with those hose clamps as I replaced the OEM chuck on my Park floor pump for a Hirame and had to use one of them. AFAIK, there is nothing better or as secure. Buy the smallest one you can find and wrap it in a couple of layers of electrical tape to cover the edges and bumps.
