The issue with coffee grounds isn't that the disposal can't handle them, it's that the pipes can't, and over a long period of time they build up until suddenly your sink is clogged on Christmas Eve which sets off a chain reaction of other problems and instead of going for a nice long bike ride you spend all day wrestling with the plumbing and related problems and getting more and more frustrated and defeated until you finally give up at about 10 p.m. that night and then wake up early on Christmas day with one last ditch effort to try something that miraculously works and then you vow never to put coffee grounds down your disposal again, which you manage to stick with for about 1.5 weeks until you just see "eff it, I'll just sell the house next time."

I mean, hypothetically speaking...
