However, and I may be in the vast minority here, years ago I put a slice of cheddar cheese on my warmed up pie, and prefer it that way still. Where did that custom develop? (I've seen it before, so I know I'm no pie mutant)
never heard of cheese ON the pie.. but my dad ALWAYS has to have a slice of cheese to eat with his apple pie! i said something about that to hubby and he looked at me like i was crazy! but the two flavors just go together (has to be the right kind of cheese.. we always had sharp) i assumed it was a northeast thing**********?
