Does anyone know which year Specialized switched to 1 1/8" headsets for the Stumpjumper? There's a 1992 Stumpjumper listed near me (looks similar to the one in this post) and I want to get one with a 1 1/8" compatible head tube so that I can use a wider range of forks.

Interesting zombie thread, I recently picked up the exact bike for the exact price.

Out of jealousy, a friend bought a 93. IIRC his rigid model is 1" threaded, and has a rear brake noodle vs 92 stop. The catalog lists the FS as oversize, though.
