Viet Nam, Cold War, civil rights demonstrations, women's movement, impeachment, Black Panthers, Malcom X, political assasinations, war in the Middle East, terrorist attacks across Europe, including the Olympics, out of control inflation, the energy crisis, Altamont, coming of age of the Baby Boomers, etc.
It's easy to invoke a nostalgic view of any decade or period of history, but the fact of the matter is that people have ALWAYS lived in stressful times. Life is stressful.
