Cannondale AL Touring - quick rehab

I did a quick sand on problem areas and spray-paint of an Aluminum Cannondale craigslist rescue and got her back on the road.

Aluminum had oxidized under the paint and there was bubbling. Things seem structurally sound. Paint wasn’t great on the steel fork either so I think it may have been a paint problem more than a storage and use problem.

I used a little Dremel flap sander and gently took the bubbles and flakes off. I preferred to not sand much and leave aluminum intact rather than get a nice cosmetic smooth surface. So she looks a bit rough, but I don’t care much.

Even with the touring geo and no overhaul of the bb and hubs, this bike really moves. I’ve never had an AL road bike.

There is a nice rear brake bridge for center pulls and rack mounting, but the stock 600 brakes stopped very smoothly and strong.
