Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

No, the most common 5 mm bolt is M5x0.8 and is the coarse pitch. M5x0.5 is the fine pitch and rarely found on bicycle components.
