Detel Bicycles - What Was the Total Production?

Does anyone know the answer to the question in my title?

I've been unsuccessful in learning what the total number of bicycles that were assembled by in Green Bay, WI, during 7 months of 1985 was. Or I'd be satisfied with an informed 'guesstimate' from someone who was there.

I've seen them described in current advertisements as 'rare.' Is that designation justified?

What I've successfully learned is that the production team, supervised by the Olympic medal-winning cyclist, Brent Emery, started with Ishiwata CrMo frames (mostly 022 and 024) and forks and finished the bikes with decent components made in Japan.

The production must have been significant. I found one built on an 025 frame in Palo Alto, CA, a long way from Green Bay.

thanks,
