I'd never get rid of my roof rack, but I've done tha tlike four times. Twice with a Ti MTB thankfully, and twice with my Prince. Once with the Prince was while ducking thrpugh a drive thru restraunt thing, their "dont drive here if youre taller" thing NAILED the Prince. I almost cried, I got out and checked everything, no damage. Nothing.

I took it as a sign that I didnt need drive thru after all.

The other was pulling into my buddies carport to load his bike on. WHAM!

thankfully the rack rail gave out, and broke, and the bike just fell over.

Those Italians build a damn strong frame apparently.
