Double century in my younger days (am 73 now) in 12 hours even. Stopped every 25 miles to rehydrate/pee/etc at food stops. Minimal time off the bike, never got out of the drops while riding. . . finished, peeled off my gloves and blister peeled off with the glove.
Next year practiced riding without gloves to toughen up hands. Rode first half (100 miles) of double century without gloves, then for last 100 miles put on riding gloves.
Don't do centuries anymore . . .been there, done that.
