By my logic,
I shouldn't be on a ten-thousand dollar super bike because the marginal improvements over cheaper bikes aren't worth it to me. If someone else thinks it's worth it, then they should buy a superbike. I couldn't care less how other people spend their own money.
I ride a lot of miles, so I choose bikes that are comfortable and durable. For short distances, I ride a crappy beach cruiser my roommate gave me when I graduated in college in 1992.
