They were a rarity. Loved when we got Cap'N Crunch with Crunch Berries. Mostly we had Life, Cheerios and Wheaties. I'd put so much sugar on it that it all wouldn't dissolve those last few spoonfuls of milk were heaven.

But you have to remember that they weren't originally Frosted Flakes. They were Sugar Frosted Flakes. There were also Sugar Smacks and Sugar Corn Pops. When concern over too much sugar in children's diets started mounting, Sugar Smacks became Honey Smacks and Sugar was dropped from Sugar Frosted Flakes and Sugar Corn Pops.

BTW...Interesting bit of trivia about Frosted Flakes. The original voice of Tony the Tiger was the same guy who sings "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch!" in the animated film. Also, the guy who was the original voice of the Lucky Charms mascot was not Irish at all and grew up on Staten Island.
