Bikes: 2000 Litespeed Vortex Chorus 10, 1995 DeBernardi Cromor S/S

IIRC, the Pyrenees are younger, sharper and steeper than older, more worn-down ranges like the Alps. Pyrenean climbs tend to be steeper as a result. No mystery.
