Other than being too expensive, it really seems like a great option. If OP can afford it, he should go for it. If not, a steer tube extender is no shame to use. I have one on my bike. Unfortunately, we all have different body types and bikes have standard frames. Even though i have bought the recommended size for me, i still had to use the extender. I think OP enjoys more of an upright stance on the bike, just like i do.
