As much as I like to complain about the Garmin Edge, those units would complain if you went the wrong way. The part of the course you have already been on is not part of the course anymore. Unless it's out and back, which is a whole other possibility for getting bonus miles.
This was an out and back to the first control with a loop on the top. As I mentioned earlier, I'll break these routes up into sections in the future so this won't happen to me again. Another rider's gps sent him back to the start at the first control, so he rode back to the overnight and had to restart day 2.
