Cool. My general advice would be:
- No steam toys - the brewing pressure should be generated by a pump, not by boiling water
- Heavier is better
- Separates (grinding and brewing) are better
- Parts should be reasonably priced and reasonably available
- Having a timer or being compatible with a timer is huge
If you find yourself getting in to the $600+ region, start looking at specialty vendors such as Whole Latte Love.
