I'm assuming my cable has snapped. Shifting is not working at all and the SRAM Apex paddle just clicks with nothing happening. I have an appointment tomorrow at a bike shop so no problem. I was able to ride the rest of the ride no problems in the third smallest cog.

Questions are:

1. This is the second time in the last year of owning this bike this has happened. Its a SRAM Apex 1x Hydro group set. Any ideas on why this has happened twice in the last year? Is this a 1x problem? Shifting was working really well until it happened. I downshifted when I intended to upshift and immediately after tried a big upshift trying to go up multiple gears. Then it snapped. Normally I'm not a klutz when shifting but I was pretty fatigued and wasn't thinking.

2. Will it damage the derailleur to ride it as is, single speed, in the third cog? I need to take it in by riding it and I am also thinking of getting out on the bike in the morning as it is my chance to ride during the week.

Thanks!
