I'm running Android 9 (Huawei Mate 10 Pro) with latest updates and latest firmware for my Lezyne Super GPS device. Last time I tested with iPhone, it was sitting on 12*ish version of iOS - the same symptoms.
I've just updated iPhone 7 to iOS 13 and will give it a try as well.

In the end, all this trouble to make a navigation feature reliably working on this device seems to be a bit too much...
