Flat last night going home. First one in about 6 months. Gave a talk at my son's school this morning, so I was late going to work. Another flat, other tire. Used the spare tube, had it all pumped up and was taking the pump head off the valve stem and zing, the valve goes flying off into the ether. Pull off tube and tire, use patch to fix old tube with the hole in it, got everything back together. Hear something strange--one front spoke broken--pulled it off and stashed it in bag. Decided I deserved it, so I walked the bike across the street to one of the best barbeque places in town.

I'm much better now.
