These events are always fun, and you don't need to train for them because there is no need for speed and they have route that can be suitable for the older, and not so serious rider, as long as that rider has at least a few gears for the possible small hills that may or may not be on the ride course route. Physically fit riders, can easily handle the route on a single speed heavy vintage cruiser, but if that seems like too much effort, just ride something that you'll enjoy riding. These events generally have a longer route that the "serious cyclists" can scoot out with the other spandex lances imagining they are riding in a group battling for the yellow jersey in July in France.
