JerrySTL - thank you so much for this information. It is very helpful! The Madison County Trails (asphalt ones) are our Plan B if it ended up being rainy as neither of us wants to deal with the mess that the combination of crushed limestone and rain makes.
I'll try to remember to come back after our adventure and let you know what we ended up doing.
