Probably not much further away is the Massapequa Park B.C. which despite the name has rides leaving from the Bethpage library parking lot on weekends, and Borella Field a bit north of that on weekdays. The Borella riders are a mix of MPBC and HBC members. Check out the website. Many if not most of our rides go to, or pass through, your area of northwestern Suffolk. The photos I put up in my previous post on this thread were all taken in South Huntington.

I passed through there again yesterday riding from the south shore to Caumsett, and am peeved because I took a few really nice pictures in the golden light of late afternoon, and then accidentally deleted them.

Anyway, hope to see you on the road!
Thanks for the information, Joe. I looked up the Huntington Bicycle Club, and it looks like their season is ending in a couple of weeks. I'm definitely joining in the spring.

Funny that you rode all the way up to the north shore to go to Caumsett. That was actually the first long ride I took on my bike a few weeks ago. I thought twice about it because of the steep hill you face on the way back when you pass the beach, but it ended up not being as bad as I thought. Last week, I rode out to Nissequogue river state park for the second week in a row, this time taking some more bike-friendly roads.

Hey, if you see someone on a black bike with a bright orange helmet, it's probably me.
