Riding in the rain for me works like this: if it starts raining while I'm on the road I can deal with it. I've ridden in friggin deluges you can't imagine. And actually enjoyed it. Did a 4 hour ride on Xmas Day and the last hour of it was in a cold, raw 43º F downpour you had to be riding in to believe. Cars showering me with rooster tails. Didn't phase me. Loved it. Go figure.
But if it's raining I can't bring myself to START riding in it. Don't ask me why. That's how it's always been. I realize this makes no sense. But I've tried to change my thinking on this and I can't seem to manage it.
It works pretty much the same for me. As long as I'm already riding I'm fine. Starting in the rain just sucks though. Especially if it is below 40 and raining.
