What do you mean by let it generate a route? As in set a waypoint for the finish destination (say, that 20, 30, 40 mile distance)? Or set a waypoint along the route to it at a shorter increment - like 1 waypoint at a time instead of trying to put them all (maybe 25-30 waypoints) in 1 route plan?

I tried the latter on a ride today just for a 3/4 mile test (25 mile ride total) and it seemed to work OK but I didn't get too ambitious with it. I just didn't want to mess with it much - was racing the clock too.
