What you ran into was what I was saying about the data points for the road not connecting. In this case, Garmin thought there was not way through the "Dead End". Which may have been correct for an automobile. Kind of understandable in this case. But sometimes the non-connecting data points just don't make sense. I ran into that on NC 226A (a state road) in Little Switzerland, NC. Right in the middle of town, to get from one point to the next about 30 yards away, Garmin routed you through tiny back roads and a dirt trail. That was fixed in the next update.
