• Missing the dust covers on the pedals.
• Has a cone wrench near the pedal (16mm???)
• Those toe straps just don't look like they're being ridden 25 miles a day.
• The front derailleur is adjusted mighty high.
• And, that rear wheel looks like it is just sitting in the dropouts.
• Is the bike in the background missing the front tire, or does it have one sewup and one clincher?

The Holdsworth does look well used. Plenty of touch-ups on the paint, and it looks like hand lettering.

I suppose many of us have quite a few project bikes, but that photo does look a bit staged. Perhaps showing off his old bike when he is riding something entirely different.
