i really enjoy the pre-race ritual of getting everything together. it's a weird situation to be up at 4:30am when it's dark and cold outside gathering your things together, eating, getting dressed and then heading out the door to do battle. it's about as different from what the general population is doing as you can get! sometimes i get home and my GF is just waking up. that feels really weird.
