I hear ya. When I quit racing cars I told my wife I actually miss that first couple of hours at the track more than the racing itself. Before the first engines got fired up, the sun was just making an appearance, just silence.

Now I get that same feeling as I'm putting the bikes on the roof and pulling out of the neighborhood in the dark. It's really a special feeling, that first few hours before you get to the course. Once I'm there it's pretty hectic with all our team around and other racers coming by to chat.
