Yes, Trek has generally been pretty consistent with its model designators, and I rather prefer them over
names. You may forget what a Verve vs. a Soho is, but the differences between the 7xx and 8xx and 9xx were pretty clear. Even their road bikes had numerical schemes: 1xx, 4xx, 5xx, etc.
