Today the ride was 26 miles with a temperature between 59F and 61F with the wind blowing steady between 10mph and 15mph where leaves were falling everywhere.
Yesterday the ride was between 63F and 66F with little or no wind. I did only fourteen miles as I watched and or flipped between/monitored most all the football games.
It is great living in the Deep South. (...well, if you can adapt to the very hot, very humid and very Long summers...)
Here is perhaps a helmet liner, cap, thingy that yall might find useful. It is Surplus Italian govt issued helmet liners that the Minnesota based SPORTSMANS GUIDE has in their military surplus catalog. Other military surplus sellers might have this and other items at better prices, so you might want to check around on the web and on the bay too.

As you may imagine, there are many useful cold weather items in the many various Surplus items from Canada, US Military and other nations
Perhaps search the bay and the web for many of the sellers of military surplus, etc.
I do recommend the GRAY color, SWISS military official issue heavy weight sweater which is a half zip pullover. It is perhaps the best heavy
sweater ever made and it looks good when paired with normal, nice clothing. Many military surplus vendors sell these in both USED and NEW condition.
Those are fantastic. There are other useful military surplus gloves, balaclavas, neck gaitors, goggles, and other items that can be useful for winter weather and/or
hunting and perhaps a few items might help make your brutal winter cycling less chilling.
