I do have a relative who kept track of all birthday and Christmas presents he gave us, and would ask for them back if he didn't see them in use in our house after a year or so. He'd also keep track of where in our garage we had stashed them, which meant he was keeping track of the rest of the stuff in our garage too. Unnerving.

Some people are just more accustomed to being contentious, too.
