AH well - it is just another form of racism. Italy's industrial industry is actually declining - the unemployment higher and its people go to University less per % than people in Taiwan. But because they're in the "far east" - Taiwan = less developed by default when if you look at the Europe - it has been a while since Italy has been an industry leader in manufacturing/design...
I wouldn't say it's racism. My lineage is from the east so I'm discriminating myself? I've always liked Italian made products. Always found them superior to things made in the far east.( With the exception of Japan ) If Taiwan can prove everyone wrong then more power to them. If they can make everything to Colnago's specs then, why not? I'm sure their technology in manufacturing is surpassing the west as we speak. The day is fast approaching where everything will be made in the far east. Where does that leave the rest of the world?
