I hear ya. When I quit racing cars I told my wife I actually miss that first couple of hours at the track more than the racing itself. Before the first engines got fired up, the sun was just making an appearance, just silence.
But you gotta admit that when that first engine fires up it's pretty electric. Always sent a shiver down my spine.
And there's something about all the noise at the track when things get going. Controlled chaos.
