Hi Becher,

Depends on how they are set up. I've seen some where you manually adjust the "front" derailleur at the hand cranks (lever attached to the derailleur), some that use friction shifters, some with frame mounted trigger shifting and some with crank mounted shifters. Personally, I like having chainring shifting on the cranks, but that is not a common set-up.
