...funny story with regard to fund raising events. We used to have one every first Saturday of the month, with a band, and "selling" beer to make money to support the co-op. This went on for years. Finally there was a big kerfuffle one year about accounting, and numbers and receipts were demanded. It turned out that we were losing money on a lot of these Saturdays, and our actual primary income was derived from sales of donations, and fees for shop visits. At the time I was kinda dumbfounded that this had gone on for years like this, with nobody having any idea about the actual cash flow because of poor record keeping. Now I just have it as another funny bike co-op story.
