OK - I admit I got confused by switching between my different forums. I clicked on this thread expecting to find a discussion about old tubes in a vintage guitar amplifier. My cognitive dissonance only lasted a couple seconds, though.

On topic response: they last longer than a year or two if they are kept in a decent environment. My Raleigh 3-speed is using tubes from 1963, although that might be pressing my luck.
