I forget the details of the changes from 1055 and 1056 WRT the cranks but the chains (7 VS 8 speed) interchange. I run 9 speed chains of what are 7 or 8 speed cranks and rings with no issues, but I don't use an indexed ft der lever. The BB is specific to the arm/tapered hole/rings arrangements. It might well be that the 1055 crankset has the tapered hole further outboard then the 1056 does, thus the shorter axle length for the 1056.
How is your chainline bad? How much space/clearance do you have between the small ring and the chainstay? Andy
Thanks for the answer Andy! The BB and crankset was installed in a local bike shop and my guess is that they did`t measured the milimeters properly. Right now I don`t know the exact space between the smaller ring and the chainstay, but I can tell that it`s too big (wich causes the chain to jump off to a smaller chainring on the back when I`m climbing uphill) , so anyways I need a smaller sized BB. I will take off the crankset, measure the axel (which I think it`s some milimeters bigger than it should be) and change it to a smaller one. I think I will go with the 107 mm one, according to velobase website.
