I had a feeling the OP was one who would post a question and never show up again

Having said that, while my primary bikes are a Trek Domane and Surly Disc Trucker, I actually have a Walmart bike that gets ridden once or twice a year. About 7 years ago for our 30th anniversary, our kids bought my wife and I a tandem bike. My wife isn't a cyclist so this is the first/only bike she'd ride. At the time, our kids didn't know much about bikes and, significantly, didn't really have any money, so Walmart it was. My wife isn't comfortable riding on roads with traffic, so once or twice a year (her limit based on interest), we'll take the tandem out to a bike path for a 10 or 15 mile ride ... flat path, no road traffice, etc. The bike actually works for those purposes and it would have been kind of a waste to spend much more for a tandem bike.
