For the money, one can buy a CV road bike for the price of a Walmart/Target road bike.

For the money, one can buy a CV straight bar / hardtail for the price of a Walmart/Target straight bar MTB looking thing.

I see Trek 820s and 850s in good shape for 75.00-100.00 that in very rideable shape. I can’t see the appeal in buying a bicycle from a big box store. I did my first riding on a 1991 Trek 1200. I paid 240.00 for it and it was in very good shape. I now have a nice Domane SL5 but that Trek 1200 can do everything the Domane does.
