A friend has the VO hubs for a road bike- he got them because they are silver and well made. If he hadnt wanted silver, I doubt he would have purchased them as there are tons of hubs that are of equal quality for less money and less weight. Example- Bitex ra12 rear hub weights 5.5ox less and costs $40 less.

The VO hubs are nicely polished and dead simple to service. That, to me, are the selling points. If you want a quality silver hub- this works. If you want a simple to service hub- this works.
The ability to easily replace a broken spoke on the road is invaluable to many who tour and rando.
