The Record model was the manufacturer's bottom of the line offering within their "drop bar tenspeed" range at this time.

You asked about the hubs; they are manufactured for Raleigh by Sturmey Archer.

The seat binder with the R in nut is made by Gripfast. This company also did the wedgebolts for the chainset.

The Altenburger Synchron brakeset comes from (the then) West Germany (DBR).

Count yourself fortunate the machine came with an ATOM brand gear block. Many lower model Raleigh cycles of this time came fitted with blocks from T.D. Cross Co. which were problematic.

In case of any future servicing on your part it is good to be aware that the steerer and bottom bracket shell of the bicycle are threaded 26TPI rather than the more common 24TPI.
