Failsafe was a better book than movie. And like livedarklions , I think Dr. Strangelove is more plausible, even though it was satire. Nowadays, I can imagine a character as nuts as General Jack D. Ripper or General Buck Turgidson...I just imagine them with spray tans and bad comb-overs.
