Everyone rides differently and has their own way of doing the bike thing. I suspect you're dealing either with a travel bike or a recumbent. Is this correct? I run pretty low gearing on my own bikes, triples (with one exception that's being replaced soon) but 26" tires are the smallest with ders, my 20" is an IGH.
Hopefully a spoke protector will do the job well enough. Andy
