I race my fixed 26" mountain bike on occasion, and run a straight 2:1, 32:16, gear ratio on it. Plenty fast. Anything more would have you walking up the hills.
Right, 2:1. But look at that thing. The rear cog is hardly smaller than the front ring. Of course you could ascend some crazy stuff, but as stated, you'd be spun out on a downhill at anything over 10MPH
