Bikes: a giant upland 03, old europia road bike or something and soon to be getting a Norco Bigfoot or something of the sort

Cut 'em or keep 'em?
you know the things on the front suspension, the plastic wiggly things... well what do they actually do? and would it be safe to cut 'em off?
